1. Who we are

Aaronsan is operated by Manda SENC, a partnership established in Québec, Canada.

For questions about the service, payments, or your data, email info@aaronsan.com. We usually reply within two business days.

2. What Aaronsan is

Aaronsan helps you study Japanese for the JLPT. You get structured decks, flashcards with spaced repetition, audio, and a record of everything you have learned.

Aaronsan is a study tool, not a school. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the organisations that run the JLPT — the Japan Foundation and JEES. We refer to JLPT levels only to describe how difficult a piece of content is.

3. Your account

Your account is personal. Protect your login details and contact info@aaronsan.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. To buy a paid plan, you must have reached the age of majority where you live. If you are younger, a parent or guardian buys it for you, with their own payment method.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it results from an incident outside your control.

4. Plans and prices

PlanWhat you getPrice

Plans are offered in US dollars (USD) and Canadian dollars (CAD). The checkout page shows the currency and final amount before payment. Your bank may charge conversion fees that are not controlled by Aaronsan.

For subscriptions, the billing frequency and next renewal date are shown before confirmation.

5. How billing works

Payments are processed by Stripe. Full card details are entered with Stripe and are not stored by Aaronsan.

Charges appear on your bank statement as Aaronsan.

Monthly and annual plans renew automatically at the selected frequency until cancelled.

You get a receipt by email for every charge, and you can see your invoices and your next renewal date at any time in your dashboard, under Subscription.

The Founder plan is charged once and never renews.

6. Cancelling, and what happens if a payment fails

You can cancel a monthly or annual plan at any time from Subscription in your dashboard. No reason is required.

Cancellation ends paid access and future renewals immediately. Your account returns to the Free plan. The current period is not refunded except as described in section 7 or required by law, and your progress remains saved.

If a renewal payment fails — expired card, insufficient funds, a refusal from your bank — your paid access stops immediately and your account returns to the Free plan until the payment succeeds. Stripe retries and emails you, and you can update your card yourself from your dashboard. Your progress is untouched, and your paid access comes back as soon as the payment goes through.

7. Refunds

You have 7 days from your payment to ask for a full refund, for any reason at all. You do not have to justify it. Write to info@aaronsan.com from the email address on your account.

This commercial guarantee applies to the first purchase of a monthly, annual, or Founder plan.

After a refund, your account returns to the Free plan. Paid content is no longer available, but your progress, statistics, streaks, and favourites remain saved.

After that period, a started billing period is normally non-refundable. Confirmed billing errors, including duplicate or incorrect charges, are still corrected.

Read the full Refund Policy

A bank dispute may pause paid access while it is reviewed. It does not delete your account or learning progress.

8. The Founder plan

The Founder plan is a single payment for permanent access to the same content as Professional. It is limited to the first 1,000 buyers.

“For life” means for as long as Aaronsan is operated. It does not guarantee that the service will exist indefinitely; section 12 explains what happens if it closes.

Founder access belongs to your account. It cannot be sold, transferred, or shared. If the payment is refunded or reversed, the access ends and your account returns to the Free plan, with your data intact.

9. Your data and your progress

Changing plan, cancelling, or receiving a refund does not erase your learning history. You may request an export or deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

Read our Privacy Policy

10. How you may use Aaronsan

Use it to study. Please do not:

  • share your account or your password
  • copy, resell, or redistribute our content
  • scrape the site, or use bots or scripts to extract content
  • try to reach content your plan does not include
  • try to break, overload, or reverse engineer the platform
  • use Aaronsan for anything illegal

11. Content and ownership

The decks, texts, design, and software of Aaronsan belong to Manda SENC. Your plan gives you a personal right to use them while it is active. Nothing transfers ownership to you.

Some material comes from open resources published by others under their own licences, and we credit each of them.

12. Changes to the service

Aaronsan evolves over time. We may change its interface, features, and content organization without limiting rights granted to you by law.

We will not remove a level of content included in your plan while your subscription remains active. If we ever have to stop operating Aaronsan, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, let you export your data, and refund the unused part of any period you have paid in advance.

13. Suspending or closing an account

We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 10, that is used to defraud us, or that we are legally obliged to close. Whenever it is reasonable, we warn you first and give you a chance to put things right.

If we close your account because of a rule you broke, the current period is not refunded. If we close it for any other reason, we refund the unused part.

You may stop using Aaronsan whenever you like. If you want your account and your data deleted, write to info@aaronsan.com.

14. What we promise, and what we do not

We use reasonable efforts to keep the service available and its content accurate.

Interruptions may still occur, including for maintenance or because of a technical incident.

Aaronsan does not guarantee any JLPT result. Progress and success depend in part on your own study.

15. Our liability

Nothing in these terms removes liability that the law does not let us remove.

Subject to mandatory law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limit does not apply where prohibited by law.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When a change matters to you as a paying customer — price, billing, refunds, or your rights — we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then.

A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

17. Governing law and your rights

These terms are governed by the law of Québec and the law of Canada that applies there.

If you live elsewhere, mandatory protections under the law of your place of residence continue to apply. These may include cancellation or withdrawal rights in addition to our commercial policy.
